Restoring Polish - Clear
Restoring Polish is the ideal starter polish for new or recently stripped-back furniture. It brings out the natural grain of the wood, nourishes the timber, and provides an initial sheen. As Step 1 of our 3 Step Waxing Process, this polish restores moisture to dry or faded furniture and is also effective on leather. The Dark Restoring Polish is particularly suited for black or brown leather. However, it is not recommended for French polished or similarly sealed surfaces as it may be too greasy.
Used For
Perfect for timber and leather surfaces, especially for restoring dry or faded materials.
Surface Preparation
Ensure the timber is well sanded and smooth. We recommend using a sanding sealer before waxing to reduce the amount of polish needed.
Application
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to apply a small amount of polish. Rub in with pressure, following the grain of the wood. Buff any excess with a clean cloth or buffing pads. For porous timber, apply up to three coats, allowing an hour between coats for absorption.
Dry Time
Minimum of 30 minutes. Ensure the surface is dry to the touch with no fingerprinting before applying additional coats.
Maintenance
Reapply as needed when the surface becomes dull or dry. To protect the finish, use coasters and mats on waxed surfaces.
Clean Up
Warm, soapy water for hands or cloths. For excess wax on timber, use a cloth dampened with citrus solvent or mineral turpentine.
This polish is perfect for giving timber and leather a refreshed, nourished finish with a natural sheen.
