Cabinet Makers Wax - Dark
Cabinet Maker's Wax is a firm building wax designed to create a protective layer on timber, perfect for filling tiny imperfections like hairline cracks or small holes. It's particularly effective on woods like oak and jarrah that lack a specific finish. When used with OOOO steel wool, it penetrates gaps, delivering a smooth, hard finish. Ideal for use after Gilly’s Restoring Polish, this wax is Step 2 in the 3-Step Waxing Process, sealing timber and enhancing its natural beauty.
Use For
Perfect for raw or unfinished timber, especially oak, jarrah, and similar hardwoods. Ideal for filling small cracks and adding a durable finish.
Application
Apply with superfine steel wool to drive the wax into gaps. Burnishing after application can create a glossy sheen.
Maintenance
Protect the wax finish with Gilly's Carnauba Polish or Cream Polish. Avoid water pooling on the surface and use mats or coasters to maintain the finish.
Removing Water Marks
Use a dry cloth and an iron (no steam) to remove water marks. Gently apply heat, and moisture will lift out, restoring the waxed finish.
This wax helps bring out the natural beauty of timber, leaving a durable, polished finish.
